Production

We aim for "zero defects"

Risk-based thinking and preventive approach is what set us apart:

our operators are trained to apply risk-based thinking to every operation.

Do it right the first time is our motto:

we aim to do things right and prevent mistakes, zero-defect products is the ultimate goal.

Alpress is innovation-driven:

we are constantly looking for new, state-of-the-art equipment to ensure the best quality, quantity and results.

Our process in a nut-shell

Step 1       Metal procurement and storage

Step 2       Melting of alloys

Step 3       Transfer of molten metal to HPDC machine-integrated holding furnaces

Step 4       Die-casting

Step 5       Shot blasting, and/or any outsourced machining

Step 6       Storage at warehouse/Dispatch

Step 7       Shipping

Quality controls on every item are applied throughout production (spectrometry, dimensional checks, hardness, CT scan and tomography testing).

Our in-house tool room allows us to repair, clean, and perform routine maintenance on the molds in our facility, reducing downtime and keeping the molds in the highest level of quality.

The Furnace Department

The department houses 5 last generation, gas-fired melting furnaces with melting capacity ranging from 1000 kg to 3000 g/h and digital control for temperature management, which shows both the required temperature and current metal temperature.

The molten metal is fed to machines encompassing n. 2 die-casting areas (foundry 1 and foundry 2), which house 14 die-casting HPDC machines.

The Die-casting Department | The Foundries

The die-casting departments house 14 HPDC die-casting machines, each machine is connected to a PLC system, while data are captured and processed in real time.

Each press (Maico – OMS presses) is equipped with built-in automatic trimming and robotic arm, with closing force ranging from 400 to 2350t in order to guarantee the highest-quality products in every industry that we serve.

Our machines and furnaces are progressively growing in number and from a technological standpoint.

Below is a list of the die-casting machines available at our plant.

#1 OMS press 400 ton.
#3 OMS Press 650 tons.
#2 MAICO Press 750 tons.
#1 OMS Press 800 tons.

#1 OMS Press 1,150 tons.
#2 OMS Press 1,350 tons.
#1 OMS Press 1,850 tons.
#1 MAICO Press 2,000 tons.
#1 OMS Press 2,350 tons.

WAREHOUSE AND MOLDS MAINTENANCE

Safe, Clean, Environmentally conscious.

Alpress own a 900sqm facility used to store die-casting and trimming tools. Each tool is recorded, and stored on designated shelves. Within the storage area, there is a tool shop dedicated to ordinary maintenance of tools.

Following safety standards and adhering to health and safety regulations is essential to Alpress, and everyone is required to make the workplace safe, clean, and healthy.

TECHNICAL DEPARTMENT

We measure ourselves against the best.

We wish to measure ourselves against the best companies on the market, reaching the same or even higher quality level.

Continuous training and learning drive the way we do business, as Alpress is constantly evolving.
Our highly-specialized team works closely with clients and tool designers to develop the best die-casting and trimming tools and solutions.

3D printers and simulation are run on a regular basis by our tech team.

PROCESS AND PRODUCT CONTROL

We continuously strive for performance improvement.

Continuous performance improvement and passion for what we do.

ALPRESS runs chemical composition analysis of alloys on a regular basis. Strict quality controls on every item are applied throughout production to ensure high quality standards are met.

A system of strict internal audits provide a more defined view of the process and insight for improving controls in terms of quality, safety procedures, environment and energy processes.

To achieve the best results, special attention is given to investments in new technology/equipment and staff training.

In order to run trials and quality checks, Alpress is equipped with state-of-the-art machinery, which is regularly calibrated and inspected.
